Secret in the ‘V’

Episode 79

Todays interview as part of the ‘Valerie Series’  holds a special place in my heart my very fist interview in my home studio. Valora Douglas sat in my new antique chair and we talked like old friends, truthfully, I didn’t want her to leave. This Val is one of a kind, she’s the only Val I’ve known in Calgary in the 20 years I’ve lived here, she’s tall and outgoing and super fun to be around.

Welcome back to Valerie’s Variety Podcast with your host me, Valerie Moss this show is about ReViews, InterViews and my Daily Views. It’s a story podcast about my life in Calgary, WhatEVER | WhenEVER. The show drops every Tuesday. Instagram @ValerieJMoss Pinterest @VJMoss Facebook @ValeriesVarietyPod

Valora Douglas on ‘Valerie’s Series’

Welcome Val Douglas, this women is the one and only Val I’ve known in my working career  here in Calgary, having my entire career here says a lot about the lack of Val’s, Valerie’s around this amazing city! She has a strong connection to this city in particular the residents as she’s an expert in Home Builders working for many local home builders throughout her career. Today’s show is about two Val’s working in the Calgary area and in the same industries construction, sales, marketing and management.  She’s creative and upbeat, a great person to have around especially in studio 17. .. – she’s so positive – has a great chill vibe – is serious about some things – passionate about others. – similar to me in her career – yep we are friends!

Get to know Valora check out her linked in and her venture with Evoke Sales Communication. She’s also a self published author with 2 books under her belt now – more on the horizon). Check out these awesome thoughts here

“High School doesn’t prepare teens for the real world.”
“I don’t know what I want to do when I finish school.”
“I can’t wait to move out of the house and start my own life and make my own rules.”

These are all words uttered by teens today and by teens from generations past. While the real world is an exciting place to dream about, it can also be very intimidating to those who are being thrown into it from the institutionalized setting of formal schooling.
The Easy Road has been written to inspire you to live a life of intention, while embracing the newness that life presents, as you embark on a real journey of success.

Feeling the financial strain of maternity leave? What are you doing for your career while you re on leave? While many books are available to help the professional woman prepare for the changes life brings with the birth of baby there are very few books, if any, that focus specifically on supporting moms career upon her return to work. While maternity leave is a blissful time, it can also be emotionally challenging as you feel the financial pinch that maternity leave can bring and often making it difficult to make ends meet. From Colic to Career provides guidance to help you enhance existing skills, develop new skills, and renew your professional image and self-confidence for your return to work. Whether a stay-at-home mom returning to the workforce, a young new mom not yet established, or an established business woman returning to work following leave...this is the perfect time to focus on your career and potentially earn more money. By taking the time in the early days following the birth of baby to establish balance in your life, and through the step-by-step guidance and exercises in the book, you will ultimately take control of your career future and financial destiny. What better time than during maternity leave, and while baby is napping, to redefine your career goals and set forth down a path to achieving the success you desire.
