New Front Page (351)

Hi Everyone, as I sit here in the sun and work on my website – I’ve added a few things and more monthly projects again…so, keep me in mind the next time you’d like to proceed with a monthly block of the month…What do you think about my new front page?

Crazy Christmas BOM (317)

So, Christmas is in the air these days over at Pastimes Online because people have been hot after my Crazy Christmas block of the month kit by Lynette Anderson. This was one of our featured block of the month clubs last year – it’s was a huge success then and now it seems to be hot once again.

Why? Because it’s stunning of course 😉

As you saw from my most recent posts by Shannon and Robyn – who’ve completed theirs it’s just so pretty, people are wanting to sign up again…

Well are you interested? Here’s what you get in your Kit if you choose to purchase it all at once or if you’d like to do it on a monthly basis I’m opening it up again as it’s just got such a renewed interest how can one resist?

What’s included in this kit:

– almost 10 meters of cotton for FRONT and BACK in the Georgette Christmas line

– 3 Dupioni Silk quarters (19.5 x 27) in White, Cappuccino (beige) and Sunshine Yellow with interfacing

– all the Silk floss you will need – in 7 colours

(this floss is a dream to stitch with, it’s non-separating,

twisted like a fine cord and just glides though your fabric)

– silk pins

– embroidery needles – in all sizes

– 60/8 sewing machine needles – specific for silk

– Reds, Blues, Oranges, Greens, Purples, Blacks, Whites, Browns, in hand-dyed Weeks Dye Works wool for all of the super cute appliques

– 12 Block of the Month patterns

– access to our private step by step blog posting show all of the construction steps to each block including videos to help you with the quilt as you go method.

Want one of these? It’s $347 plus shipping to you –

for the ENTIRE quilt front and back all you have to supply is batting.

YEP totally complete all in one kit!

Butterfly Garden (305)

Okay so I’m in LOVE with this new block of the month – thanks Lori for the suggestion and thanks to all of you for voting it as one of your MOST favourites.

It’s so super cute to sew together, the patchwork is pretty basic but the results are so great! I’ve decided to use dupioni silks for the appliques, raw edge with a basic blanket stitch…

Vintage Sewing Machines is set to start in 2012 (298)

Hi All, well it’s official, here’s the first bom that’s been decided…

Vintage Miniature Sewing Machines …super cute and I’m already stitching away (in between feedings which is more fun). I’m in love with these little beauties. Finishing at 8.5″ square plus our super cute borders. I decided to play off of the “vintage” feel and use the wash-out feel of the serenity line of fabrics along with the hand dyed Weeks floss…sign up today here. This bom starts in January of 2012. Make this for your own Sewing Room of that of your friends:)

Block of the Month Decisions (281)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

To all of you who took the time to vote based on this flyer – we are THAT much closer to making a decision…

We know for sure it will be this one:

Vintage Sewing Machines – one of my favourite for a long time – thanks Kathy B for helping me find the pattern…we will be creating this one in muted tones – washed out if you will to replicate the old and antique feel of this pattern.

The other two (I’m hoping two more) are just being finalized…so stay tuned!

If you haven’t voted yet please do, just download the flyer then send and email  with your choice(s) and this will help solidfy out choices.

Thanks everyone!

What to do, What to do? (279)

Hi there Pastimes members, new and old (hmm need a better word here) and soon to bes…what should we do next year for Block of the Months in 2012?

I’ve posted about this before, a few times and I had a few more suggestions come in…what do you think of this one?

A good combination of Applique and patchwork but – where’s the stitching, don’t we need stitching??

Or this one? Feel like doing another Christmas one? Creams and Reds?

We have had another Halloween suggestion – check out this post here

The Vintage Sewing Machines is so far top of the list check out this post about them

What about this music themed one? Check out the post about it here

So members that are working on one of the 5 (or more) from this year would you like some more time to complete the ones you are working on before we start a new round? What do ya think? Need more time? What if we started the new ones in Feb or March – would you be enticed to start one then? Hmmmm 🙂 Would this make it easier for you or are you good for whenever?

Entries for July (249)

So the Summer seems to be getting in the way of some people’s quilting time I think 🙂 including Mine just a little. Thus my next few posts are being written an uploaded using my iPhone as we’ve been cramming in our favorite Summer activity: Camping. Yep us Moss’ love to camp.
Here’s the entries for July

The winner this month is Kathy, hmmmm what should the prize be??? Let me look in my studio for something she’d love

Entries for June Blocks (246)

Only 2 entries for June so that must mean Summer is in full swing…I know I can attest to that since I didn’t quite get all of my own blocks completed either…such is life of a quilter in the Summer, right?

Danielle R her super cute Truly Scrumptious Block

Journey of a Quilter getting Finished (223)

My Friend Kathy and I made a pact that we would have our Journey of a Quilter tops finished by the Heritage Park Show (end of May) that being said, we had a quilt guild meeting in between and our Quilt Show in Chestermere (please stop by and say hi) is May 7 so our dates of completion have been cut by 3 weeks YIKES!! Well I thought I would get a move on this finishing thing..since I have to finish A Kittens Tale also…

cut the batting – check!

the back was pieced last year and just waiting patiently to be used – check!

crawling around on the carpet adding a million basting pins, sore knees – check! Thanks to Jen who stopped by for some stitching that day – good motivation to get pinning!

Practicing my free motion quilting from Ana’s class (which I learnt so much). I only used my free motion quilting foot on this project what a learning curve but I think I’m getting it finally.

I’m thinking this pebbling filler stitch is my new favourite!! I’m not kidding it’s super easy to get into a groove with this stitch, I’m in LOVE! What do you think? Liking it aren’t you?

I have more pics to take and show you, I’ve done quite a bit more since these were taken so I’ll get more pics here to show y’all.

Until next time, stay happy and creative, get your quilt tops pinned and layered and it won’t seem like such a daunting task to start the quilting process:)
