Dear Jane a3 – Hunter’s Moon

(get your Dear Jane book coil bound, cost +/- $5 at Staples…trust me, it makes things easier)

Hunter’s Moon…I wonder how Brenda came up with these names for each block? Do you know anyone name Hunter? See my note about this being (reversed) that means the fabric is switched – this is the only block I’ve done this with so far. Once I had done this one, I thought this might be a lot to keep track of if I was to reverse the colour options…and the subsequent blocks I keep as per Jane’s colour way.

I created a quarter square triangle so it was easier to line up the appliqué in the correct location.

This was a pretty easy block, however I did start out with a needle turn appliqué technique and then do to the small sizes I change it to the raw edge option – much better.

Right around this time of year I decided to step down from my position on the school PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) as secretary. I was much more of a time commitment than I had initially thought. Do you volunteer at your kid’s school and if so, what do you love about it?

this ^^ round table is actually an antique piano stool, circa 1890s (wish I played) I use it as my stool to sew on, it swivels, has claw feet with glass balls, and just the most perfect backdrop for these little blocks. The scissors are 4″ Gingher Scissors in the Cheetah theme – they used to come out with a theme each year – check out this awesome photo to give you an idea.

I may redo this block later on it I feel that it’s just to light in the location due to reversing the colour, I’ll keep you posted.
