Welcome everyone, today I want to give you a glimpse of my soon to be new quilting studio/home office. My DH and I have been taking every spare moment and working on it as much as we can. Check out my video if you haven’t already.
Next update will hopefully be paint, cutting table(s) shelving, carpet and more, stay tuned 🙂 What are “must haves” in your quilting space? I would love to hear your answers so I can include those in my plans.
this is the shelving we are considering, nice and tall with lots of layers
this is my desk style but mine is much more colourful 😉
I’ve also recorded a few videos to “Welcome the JOQ club” and a of demo on some embroidery stitches, I hope you find these helpful, please let me know if you want to see a demo on something else and I’ll see what I can do 🙂
NEWS: I’ve been nominated for the Vice President position with my Lakeside Quilters Group, thanks so much ladies, I hope I can live up to your expectations 🙂
I felt so good at my Lakeside Quilters meeting last night because one of the gals there Kathy B, belongs to my Journey of a Quilter club and she has her block all sewn together and was working on the embroidery. It’s so nice to see your hard work and planning come to fruition!!
I’ve also completed the 2nd block for the Journey of a Quilter club and I’m really starting to get into it, I love the flosses, patchwork and the combination of the fabrics; I know I’m a little biased but I honestly thought after all of the planning and everything I wouldn’t be as excited about it as I am while putting it together. I can’t wait to go through this journey.
I’m off this weekend retreating in Sundre with my Guild Flying Needles so I’ll have loads to blog about next week. Here’s my plan for the weekend:
– Zach’s quilt will be quilted and hopefully the binding attached
– 6 companion blocks for my Freebie 15 and 1 Freebie block – this may take longer then I have lol
– Pizza Box block has to be finished this weekend as I need to pass it onto the next gal
– JOQ embroidery and AKT’s embroidery – trying out the new silks flosses – YAY!!
What are your plans for the weekend, I would love to hear from you.
Until next time, have a happy and creative weekend,
LOVE the look of the second block!! Very cute! Can’t wait! The videos are very awsome, you did such a good job on them Val(not quit sure how you didn’t laugh through any of them;) Thanks
Hey Amie, the second block turned out soooo adorable, I just love it!! The videos seem to be short but sweet and we are trying to keep them that way – I’m so glad you liked them, laugh…we’ll not really as I’m just trying to get my demo across and to not fumble over my words 🙂
Any other demo’s you would like to see?
Anyone?
Valerie
