Around the Net: AAQ (entry 92)

Hi Everyone, today for my Around the Net entry is thanks to the Quilting Gallery’s blog regarding Alliance for American Quilts project: New from Old. Funny thing here is my Flying Needles Quilt Guild is doing the same sort of challenge this year but I’m pretty sure our quilts have to be slightly larger lol.

The quilts for AAQ need to be 16″ square, consisting of 3 layers, include hanging sleeve and label. Entrys need to be in my May 31st to be qualified. And if you are a Quilting Gallery member your chances of winning something are greater.

Any of you entering something in? If so, send me a photo of your project for all of us to see.
Until next time, have a happy and creative day,

Kind Words (entry 91)

Hi Ladies, here’s another round of Kind Words I just had to share, thanks so much Isobel.

Valerie, I wanted to add something. On the phone, you asked how I was liking the silks and I only commented on the fact that I was finding them easy to work with. I should also have mentioned that I love the way they contrast with the prints, both visually and in texture. The light catches them differently and they have a bit of dimension with the “slubs”. I think they really add to the quilt.
