Where have I been? (195)

Hi Everyone, after a much needed break and then being sick with a cold and working diligently with getting my boms all ordered, cut, bundled and prepped to send with the Christmas mail volume it’s sure added time to get these out…one more to go Crazy Christmas and we’ll be right ready to begin all 5! Yes I said 5. I can’t believe it myself as I’m not really sure if I can keep up but I’m committed so – wish me luck!!

Over the Christmas break I’ve been busy stitching and sewing and creating – don’t you just love creating and having the time to create?

Now back to blogging…getting my newsletter prepped and ready to send – it was supposed to go out Jan 1 and it’s pretty close, just needle little motivation…

I need your advice on this project – first off. This is a challenge with one of my guilds the rules are: min of 120″ perimeter, min of 10 fabrics and can only have 1 block!

I’m thinking Pinwheels in all sizes going in different directions and tucked into each other…feedback needed 🙂

Tip for the day is brought to you from my super cute Quilters Calendar bring me (and you) a tip of the day!

Many new tools for quilters come from other hobbies. The scissor ziggers can be found in fly fishing supplies.

Do you know what scissor ziggers are? They are the little pals we attach to our scissors so we can find them in our sewing kits 🙂

Until next time, stay happy and creative!

Crazy Christmas – Month 1 (194)

Crazy Christmas by Lynette Anderson…our new Block of the Month (bom) is truly wintery and awesome. I love the crazy patch with the mixture of wool applique and stitchery using the Jeval Silk Floss and Jeval Dupioni Silks.

Anyone want to come out and play with us…wool, silk floss and silks can you say, bliss? These blocks finish at 13″ so this is one substantial quilt full of all of our favourite things:)

The Value of Eachother (193)

Here’s a poem from one of my longest and dearest friends…really made me stop to think and cherish everyone and our time together…you may need a kleenex.

To realize
The value of a sister/brother
Ask someone
Who doesn’t have one.

To realize
The value of ten years:
Ask a newly
Divorced couple.

To realize
The value of four years:
Ask a graduate.

To realize
The value of one year:
Ask a student who
Has failed a final exam.

To realize
The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

To realize
The value of one month:
Ask a mother
Who has given birth to
A premature baby.

To realize
The value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize
The value of one minute:
Ask a person
Who has missed the train, bus or plane.

To realize
The value of one second:
Ask a person
Who has survived an accident.

Time waits for no one.

Treasure every moment you have.

You will treasure it even more when
You can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family member:

LOSE ONE.

**gets you thinking doesn’t it and appreciating everything…perfect time of the year to remind us all and how special we all are**

From me to you:)
