Easter…Easter…Easter…Mystery Revealed (349)

As this Easter Mystery starts coming to an end…I wanted to give those of you some sneak peeks of our blocks…It’s a great stitching project with copious amounts of floss to play with…I think in total there was 21 colours…plus all of the fun fabrics we picked. Here’s block 1. This is the personalized center part of the quilt. You put your name or your favourite saying and I’ve included all of the text (alphebets) and placement guides for help in laying it out. You complete two sets of egg sashing sections each month plus a center block either sitched or appliqued (raw edge). Corner stones and peeper borders finish off each block – they turned out so fresh and spring like…

I wanted to create something that reflected me and what I love to do..well stitching of course, using a barrage of threads of course and playing with fabrics…I haven’t found any Easter Quilts that suited my style..so I just came up with one.

What do you think?

If you love this quilt and would like to make one of your very own I’m thinking about giving away a pattern to someone who tells me their best story and if possible Easter story…

Leave your story in the comments section and I’ll be happy to review and send you one of my patterns…Every Bunny’s Welcome!!

Single Girl Quilt (348)

So as some of you know I’ve been working on this quilt for a while now. It’s for a special someone who has been through so much in the last couple of years. She has a special place in my heart. I initially was collecting the polka dots for my own project…36 different polka dots later I figured this quilt should be for this special person.

I’ve never marked a quilt before putting the pattern underneath the quilt top and tracing it, have you? I asked my friend Kathy and she does all the time as she’s an amazing hand quilter.

So after 2+ years since I’ve started this project I’m onto the quilting. I’ll post pics of this soon as I’ve changed my mind after I traced the quilting pattern out. But I’m loving it and now its crunch time to get it done.
